Michael,
We were in the audience last night and were able to see you following the concert at the 1842. Your performance was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We found out later that you had just played Carnegie Hall on the evening before. My goodness, you must have been exhausted, but it certainly did not show! Thank you for giving so much of your time and for sharing your family with us down here in Macon.

Aloha Michael! My family and I are wondering (and hoping) that you'll return to visit and perform in Hawaii sometime in the near future. Do you think you may be heading this way anytime soon? We love you! With aloha and anticipation, Lucy

WOW!! What more can I say - the best show I've ever seen! You are a consummate performer, a true showman, and are gifted with a beautiful singing voice, in my opinion the best in show biz today. I have been a fan for years and can't wait for the opportunity to see another show. Thank you for sharing your talents with us last night and best wishes for the rest of your tour. You are a wonderful treasure.

Michael,
I saw your performance at the Birchmere Sunday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Please come back again.

That Myer Melbourne intimate cabaret night was simply the best musical evening- even with the poor old Bosendorfer (which did you proud, even if it wasn't a fitting rhyme). Your presentation of "Old Friend" was magic. Thank you. Alqonquin's version is good, but the live one was like watching a play. ps the Israel Phil recording of "I Won't Send Roses" is my MF Number One- ever. Take care.

Hello from London. Just clicked onto your site via Liza's. It's her birthday today, so I was catching up with news. Whilst I was looking at your site, your music was playing. What a blinder of a version - how do you keep the music playing. It's such a lovely song which hardly anyone sings (Bassey does a good version!) and you brought out all the best things in it. So, I'm off to the CD shop to buy it - and everything else! Many thanks Michael and hopefully will get a chance to hear you live again soon in concert in London - or in New York in May.

Michael, just a line to tell you how much I enjoyed your performance last night in Detroit. I've been a fan for years but this was my first opportunity to see you and I wasn't disappointed! Your energy and love for the songs you sing are contagious..even my husband who is a fan (by marriage)had a great time! I was the woman who yelled out S'Wonderful when you were asking for Gershwin songs and your concert certainly was!!! Thanks for a great night! Mary Kay

I just wanted to let you know how much my friend and I enjoyed your performance this afternoon with our wonderful Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. We each bought one of your CD's and listened to one on the way home. I love the music of Rosemary's era. You really do bring back memories of the great music I grew up on. My friend and I went to Augusta, KY last summer to see Rosemary's home. It was a very wonderful trip back in time. I saw the movie "White Christmas" at Radio City Music Hall when I was in grade school and we lived in NJ. It was a thrill to see that beautiful red dress in person. Thank you for coming to Cincinnati to perform for us. We hope you will come back to see us again.
From Stephanie Hall on March 2, 2008
We were at the Detroit Music Hall on March 1 and loved your show. Last time we were treated to your live performance was 15 years ago at the George Burns Theatre in Livonia, MI when you performed with Rosemary Clooney. We still admire how well you handled a drunken heckler that night, while keeping your cool and treating us to a combination of great musicianship and musicology! Thanks!
In your photogallery of actors and singers, you identify "Michael with Julie Andrews and friends." The cute guy in the yellow vest is Flutist James Galway.
Also, in the photogallery of Personalities with Patti Austin, Monica Mancini, Tom Scott and Brian Stokes Mitchell (his last names are switched.

Thank you SO much for one of the best afternoons I have experienced in a long time. Unbeleivable, but it was my first concert at Music Hall. I had been waiting to hear you for so long. Your love and devotion to Rosemary was so evident on your face, as you were singing. It was almost like you were singing to her. Thank you for a memorable day. I can't wait until your return to Cincinnati.

Hello Michael, I wonder if you and artists of your caliber know just how much you mean to the public at large. Through your music you help to heal our hearts at most difficult times in our lives and for that I sincerely Thank You. My parents died very closely together and it was through your music that I was helped to fill that void of their loss and their long battles with cancer. Even before that growing up gay in the south your music was a way to escape to another world where it was easier to be myself. Isolation can be difficult when your young and deemed so different. Here's to much Good Health and Happiness in your life always. Douglas

Attended your San Luis Obispo performance last night...and 4 years ago. My only complaint: the evening was too short.
Please don't wait another 4 years to return.
Finally, do you perform in a L.A. nightclub as you do in NYC? We'd drive down to see you again.

Dear Michael,
Eric Dale Knapp and I were privileged to attend your concert at the McCallum Theatre ... and what a passion-filled, musically fulfilling performance it was! A stellar evening! You and Lorna Luft were phenomenal! As were your instrumentalists! And your duet with Liza Minelli was filled with delight, power and joy! To be surrounded by such amazing people like Barry Manilow (in our row), Liza Minelli (behind us) ... then to see Florence Henderson, and to meet you, your parents, Terrence, and others, made a perfect exclamation point to a night that Eric and I will always remember. May God continue to bless you and your magical gift of music!

Mr. Feinstein: I am a Guatemalan resident, and I knew your work through Liza Minelli`s website. I`d like to meet you personaly, but I`m aware that`s no possible, but instead I want to tell you that you are a marvelous singer, and the best Gershwin interpreter as well. I have 3 of your records (Pure Gershwin, Sings Irvin Berlin and the Gershwin`s songs). They`re are my treasure. I specially love the Gershwin Music; I have a lot of music of Them and seeking to get more¡. I know you`re a busy person, but I`d be honored if you replied this message. I spread around your work in my community. If you ever come by my country, you have a friend.

My wife and I loved last night's concert. Many thanks. We also bought your Harry Warren CD. I admire Warren and have been playing his tunes on my sax for many years. Spkg of sax men, congratulations on choosing Paul De Marinis, the best in town. And stay away from 5135 Kensington Avenue. Like you and Liza, a buddy and I visited the place, which is on a one-way street, and skeddadled asap. We had heard Mary Cleere Haran sing "The Boy Next Door" the previous night. Continued success! My husband and I had the pleasure of seeing your show at the Touhill, UMSL-St. Louis Campus last night on Valentine's Day. What a wonderful evening of your marvelous talents. And to think you are married to Linda Eder is exciting. We saw her performance at the Fox Theater, St. Louis in 2007. She is also wonderful. We would love to catch your show at the Regency. Hope to get to New York soon. Thank you again for a memorable evening.

Thank you for the wonderfully moving performance last night at the Touhill in St Louis. I have been a fan of yours & the music you love for many years. I thank my parents for introducing me to it when I was young back in the 50s'& 60s'. I remember many of the people you mentioned. Thank you again from both myself & Tom, my significant other.
From Barbara Berra on February 15, 2008
I have, never in my life, sent a fan letter to anyone. I feel it is high time. My husband and I attended your Valentine concert at Touhill last night and hated when the time came for it to end. You are such a talented person and more than that you teach us so much about the music world that we would never, otherwise, learn. We loved the quotes from writers, performers, etc. that you shared with us. You have been blessed and they would all be so proud of how you have put to use those pearls that they have passed on to you. I apologize for our Missouri lady (I use the word loosely) who so rudely interrupted your show last night. It was a shame to cause this disruption. Please come back to Missouri soon. Almost wasn't able to attend as there was little or no advertisement of this event. Have to watch your website more carefully. THANK YOU.

Michael, Never done this before... never written a "fan" letter in my life. Guess it's about time. I've been a fan of yours since buying the "Irving Berlin" LP years ago. I was fortunate to be on vacation in Tucson, AZ last week and catch you in concert. I'm also a musician, grew up listening to the great standards, and have to tell you that I don't think I've ever heard anything so completely satisfying in my life. I've seen the music industry's best over the years and your show did justice to the great writers whose music you showcase. Thank you for your heart and passion for this music... I told a friend recently, "I wish I could have Michael Feinstein all to myself for an evening at the piano... up close and personal." I hope that those who have had that opportunity know how fortunate and blessed they have been. You are certainly a gift to us all. JP

Dear Michael, I'm so pleased to finally find this way to contact you. I own many of your albums: Music for Movies/Broadway, the MGM Album, Irving Berlin, Israel Philharmonic, and many others. BUT, the one that moves me the most, and never fails in this is your album of Jimmy Webb songs. It's just breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you so much for this.
I was delighted to see you in person a few years ago at the NJPAC. I'm a horrible fidgeter and usually anxious to move after a concert or show. In the case of your concert, I literally could have sat through it all a second time. I just didn't want you to stop. You touch me at the base of my soul and I always feel like I'm listening to a good friend when I hear you sing. I've been a lifelong Tony Bennet fan and, more recently a huge Nancy LaMott fan. But at this time, you have moved to the top of my list. Imagine my joy when I occasionally get to hear you AND Nancy singing a duet. Pure Heaven. Please keep it up.
Oh, and I'm enjoying immensely your singing on this website.

We are so looking forward to your appearance at the Birchmere in March. It is a very interesting venue that offers quite a mix of shows - anything from blues, country, rock, and jazz to burlesque and "An Evening with Bea Arthur" and Nancy Sinatra and Wayne Newton. The audiences are always very knowledgeable and respectful. While you were in Baltimore last November (we saw all three appearances at the Meyerhoff), I was able to find an interview you did on WJZ TV with Richard Sher (a popular Baltimore reporter who did People are Talking with Oprah Winfrey for five years in the early eighties before she went to Chicago). It would be great if your website could post information on any televised interviews you do when you visit a city for a show. Anyone interested in seeing the Baltimore interview can go to wjz.com, click on "video" and type in your name and the clip will come up. I love to see your interviews and performances on youtube. Anyway, see you at the Birchmere. Anne Besner

Dear Michael, My husband and I drove down from Scoland to see you in the (excellent) Shaw Theatre on Sunday 6.01.08. The show was truly memorable and I had the chance to speak to you when you were kind enough to sign CDs at the end of the show. I was so nervous at meeting the person whose talents I had enjoyed over the past 12 years that I'm afraid I talked AT you instead of TO you, and even offered to suss out a Shaw Theatre equivalentin Edinburgh so that I could see you on home ground!. I apologise for being so crass but nerves got the better of me on the night. However, now that you are committed to the Shaw Theatre I will be able to travel to London to see you every year (?hopefully your concerts will be an annual event) and perhaps I can meet you again and this time say what I wanted to say, and that is, that I love your interpretations of all those beautifull melodic songs I grew up with. My husband, daughter and I had an unforgettable evening, and we thank you very much for that.

Dear Michael Two hours of unalloyed bliss flew as I watched and listened, enraptured,on Sunday evening. Terrence's arrival to sit beside us was the icing on the cake! As ever, your performance was a flawless blend of delights; the repertoire, the anecdotes, the musicianship, the humour and the warmth. is it any wonder that you have captured my heart for ever? I particularly appreciated the time you took to speak with us individually and I'll treasure the photograph as a memento of a night that flew on Porteresque "gossamer wings'! Look after your dear self and please come back again soon. Perhaps you'll visit Scotland one day and allow me to show you its unique beauty spots. Till we meet again, my warmest good wishes to you and yours. Sincerely, Anne.

Havw loved your work for many years in fact I had to get a copy of Live at The Algonquin when on holiday in the states in 1992 as it was not available in the U>K> then.LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. I spent the whole evening on 6th Jan. with a great bug smile on my face but a little tear also when you sang my most favourite Sondgeim songs. I watched the Jerry Herman 2008 New Year's show and loved the song you sang..."I won"t send roses" So touching, so endearing. I can't think of anyone who could sing that song with such feeling as you did. I started buying your music years ago because of your magical voice and your love affair with the piano. How beautifully you play! My brother and Marshall Barer were great friends. He gave me 3 of his children's albums; on one he wrote :"For Lilli" the second, "Especially for Lilli" and the 3rd: "Very especially for Lilli" He was very special. I felt bad when he passed away. My brother is gone, too. I'm no longer a youngster. Just passed my 87th birthday, but still young at heart and still enjoying your music. Even bought your book "Nice Work If You Can Get It" How or where can I find a tape or CD of you singing "I Won't Send Roses" ? Lilli

I've been brought up to love all music, no matter what tradition it comes from, and so being a fan of Michael's music came extremely naturally - my treasured copy of Such Sweet Sorrow has almost been worn away! It was wonderful news to hear that Michael is performing in London - and even better when I got tickets to one of his shows at the Shaw in January! This will be my first opportunity to see him perform live, so a big hello to anyone else planning to be at the London shows - and a big thankyou to Michael for coming back to the UK. Happy holidays Michael.

My partner and I have been coming to New York at Christmas for the past ten years. We always see your Holiday show and of course, are big fans. When we first met, during our first trip to New York, we heard a song from a wonderful singer named Nancy LaMott. The name of the song was "Just in time for Christmas". It is a beautiful song and has become our favorite. On the same Christmas CD, she sings a song with you called "Baby, it's cold outside". I understand you were not only a fan of hers, but a friend. In reading the article about your current holiday show, they talk about it being a tribute to some of your friends that have passed on. I was hoping that on Friday, December 7 at the late show that you would sing that song. It is such a wonderful song and I know you would sing it beautifully. I am sure your show and the songs you sing are probably set in stone, however I was hoping I could ask this one indulgence. If you can't, I understand and I am sure I will enjoy this show as I have enjoyed all of them in the past. Thanks for all the great memories of your holiday show in the past. See you Friday.

Love the style of Gershwin,Berlin and all the others. Maybe hip hop will die a quick death soon and the good stuff\ return.

....... the other evening and wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your show. I was lucky enough to be able to sit right up front at one of the tables. I was the fellow who requested "Rhapsody in Blue" for your Gershwin Medley (your comeback about not knowing the words was very good!). We brought three other couples and one of the guys told me afterwards that it was the best live performance of any kind that he had ever seen! I felt that it was a "complete" show in that it had such a good balance of types of music, songwriters, humor (you do a great Paul Lynde), and musical education. I loved the tidbit about Bob Hope singing "I Can't Get Started with You" to Eve "Our Miss Brooks" Arden in a Broadway play. It was also good to hear the rest of the lyrics that never got sung on Bunny Berigan's recording because of his solo closing out the song. All in all, a great time!
By the way, we first saw you perform back in the late 80's on New Year's Eve at the Plush Room in San Francisco and have been following your career (and buying your albums) ever since. Thanks for mentioning your engagement at Davies Hall this year. Since we had plans to be up in S.F. for New Years, we just bought tickets for your Dec. 30th show. This time we're bringing my sister and her husband and that will add even more people to your fan base!
Again, thanks for the great performance last Saturday night. Us folks "down in the valley" really do appreciate you coming to these little out of the way places to give us great quality musical entertainment.
See you in S.F.!!

Hello again Michael my friend Muriel and I were lucky enough to meet you at the Shaw Theatre and speaking for myself, as old as I am I was completely star struck. I did manage to say thank you for all your work in preserving and keeping alive the American Songbook. I also told you that songs/music but especially lyrics are my passion. And then when you asked me about my favourite song writers I could not get my brain in gear and mumbled something about Sondheim, Berlin and Porter. Which was a great shame because it really is my passion and I am kidded in my singing class because I always seem to know who wrote a song and which film/musical etc it is in. Of course, I have so many favourites all the greats like Schwartz/Dietz, Kern, Jerry Herman, Loesser, Berlin and the wonderful Rodgers and Hart but also the more obscure like Alec Wilder. I must mention the Bergmans. I am sorry to go on but I felt I needed to say "it was not said to impress you but is a serious interest for me".
Thank you for taking the time to talk to us and I hope we can say 'hello' again in January at the Shaw Theatre.

Michael, my husband and I absolutely loved your performance yesterday. It truly will be one of the most memorable events of my life. We fell in love with your voice and music on a CD, but seeing you in person was just mesmerizing. What a wonderful time we had. You have been blessed with incredible talent. Thank you for using it in such a wholesome way, appropriate for all ages!

Triple loved your three shows in Baltimore with the fantastic Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. We were not the only dedicated fans that went to three straight shows - we know of some who went to four in a row including the one just outside of Washington, D.C.!The next time we see you will be at the Birchmere and it can't come soon enough for us. You perform the music we love with both an emotional and intellectual connection, with a deep respect for the composers and lyricists. You would make them proud, and you make us come back for more and more. Thank you for coming to Baltimore. The crowd loved you, and I hope you will return to Baltimore soon. Anne Besner

We loved your performance tonight with the BSO but I was disappointed that you didn't play and sing more by yourself. While your voice is as brilliant as ever, better than ever, it was often difficult to hear you over the full orchestra. Your voice and demeanor are the essence of hope and a bright future. Keep up the great "work". Thank you.

I was so pleased to receive the information from the MFAS that you are returning to London in Jan. 2008 & I have bought tickets for Sunday 6th. Hoping that we shall be able to meet with you after the concert. I have been a fan for many years & have seen you on each of your visits to London over the last few years. Particularly enjoyed the one with Rosemary Clooney at the Festival Hall but I prefer the smaller, more intimate theatres. Really looking forward to seeing you again and hearing your wonderful voice.

we are listening to your c.d. which we purchased at the Melbourne concert quite a few years ago, and I wanted to tell you how much we loved that night - we took a great friend, Sadie Brown, who was one of Australia's greatest pianist and who also loved the evening at The Atheneum in Collins Street, Melbourne. Sadie gave so much with her music to so many people, young and old, and so do you - we do have happy memories of that day. I think Sadie enjoyed Gershwin's music so much - and her husband George used to sing very well and their concerts thrilled many people all over Australia - but mainly I knew them in Melbourne and was so happy to have known them both - and to have learnt about you through Sadie. God bless you and your musical talent. Judy Robertson

Hello Michael, I met you at the party after the State Theater Performance. I gave you a piece of paper with some songs written down on it. I hope you remember. I bought the "hopeless romantics" CD that night. I couldn't wait to hear the song "I Had the Craziest Dream" when I got home. Your voice is so beautiful but I have to say that I was a little disappointed because you didn't have an orchestra behind you. That would have made the song heavenly. Della Reese sang it beautifully on an old CD called "Voice Of an Angel" Thank you so much again for sharing your wonderful gift. I spend many lonley hours with you. I was so happy to meet you at the State Theater. It was something I'll remember. Fondest and warmest regards, Yvonne

We so enjoyed your recent performances in Lancaster,Pa. and Wilmington, De. with Linda Eder. You always manage to bring something different and special to every show - such as the Bar Mitzvah dance your band member did in Lancaster! We are definitely getting excited about your three shows in Baltimore with the wonderful Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Liza Minnelli will be here the week before you, and we will be seeing her for the first time. I've lost count of how many times we have seen your shows. One song I would love to hear you do is The Nearness of You. I hope soon you will include it in your shows or recordings. See you in Baltimore. Anne Besner

Michael: Once again, a great concert on Sunday night and one I will always remember. I loved sitting in the front row watching you perform beautifully, as always, and when you asked for Gershwin requests, you sang the one I always request "They Can't Take That Away From Me". I still have the video of Ira Gershwin's 100th birthday at Carnegie Hall where you sang that song and have always loved the way you sing it. It will always be my request for you. It was great to you backstage after the show and I am so happy you liked my gift. I will try to come to your show at Feinstein's in New York in December. All my best and I hope to see you again in the future. You are the best in my book and it is truly an honor to know you.

I've been a fan for many years.....beginning with the time you were on "Thirty Something" singing "Isn't It Romantic" rather tongue in cheek when Michael and Hope had a disastrous date, trying to recapture pre-baby romance. Since then I've purchased several of your CD's and you got me through many solo evenings with a glass (or bottle) of wine. When I finally met THE ONE, he planned to propose to me at your Atlanta concert at The Fox back in 1998...but your show was canceled! Luckily, he proposed anyhow.. and we have been happily married ever since. I am attempting to buy tickets (that are not wedged up against the wall) to see you at the Cobb Energy Center 09/15. Wish me luck. You can make me cry with just about any song you sing, so if we are there, I'll be the one wearing the water-proof mascara.
Keep up the good work - you are amazing.

Dear Michael, I just wanted to thank you so much for coming to Utah. I have loved your beautiful voice and your mastery of the keyboard for many years. I am so happy that I was finally given the chance to enjoy you live. I am young (48), but all of my life I have been drawn to the music of a more gentle era. There is absolutely no better form of music, in my opinion, than the songs you shared with us last night. Of course, I could have listened to you all night and I would have loved to have sung some of those beautiful songs with you. Alas! I saw on your tour schedule that we were your last engagement before you go to Japan. I do hope that you will enjoy yourself there. I understand that the Japanese people are very appreciative of good American music. Again, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful talent with us and I hope that you can come back- soon- God willing. take care of your beautiful throat (and fingers)and enjoy life to it's fullest. Dear Michael,
I just wanted to let you know how wonderful the concert was last night. I have all of your CDs and also all of Linda Eder's, and have loved you both for years. Imagine my excitement when I saw you were performing together. I thought the show flowed really well, and your personalities and voices mingled superbly. I've seen Linda in concert before, but this was my first time seeing you, and I was very moved. If it weren't for the mosquitos and the guy next to my husband who kept dancing and singing in his seat, the night would have been perfect. Too bad you don't have control over those things. We noticed a lot of people being led backstage last night, and I would absolutely love to get on that list. We are going to try to see you again in NJ or PA later this year.
Well, great show! I wish you both the best of luck and success.
Thank you,

My Mum, Joan, and I met you after your concert at the Adelaide Festival Theatre last Saturday. I was the one that had flown the length of the Country from Darwin at 3.00 am that morning to attend your concert.
The concert was everything I dreamed it would be, and more, and it was just wonderful to meet you and your Mum and Dad.
Unbeknown to me, Mum had arranged the meeting as a surprise, and I only found out about it shortly before the concert. And what a surprise it was.
Coming down to Adelaide to see you was not only wonderful for me, but it also gave my Mum and I a fantastic weekend together, one we will share for the rest of our lives, and you played a major role in that.
Thank you Michael for allowing Mum and I to not only meet you, but to give us one of the best times we ever had together. I will never forget it.

From Peter King (King Of Croon) on June 26, 2007
Hi Michael,
What a wonderful experience being at both your Master Class and concert last Saturday in Adelaide.
Having attended Master Classes at previous festivals, I knew what the format was likely to be and expected to learn a few tips to better my performances in the future. I was not disappointed. Though the three singers had much experience under their belt, it was clear to see and understand that we ALL have much to learn in our ‘performing’ journey. You confirmed and illustrated many aspects of my own performing that will lead to a much more rounded and personal act.
Your ‘coaching’ of the three through deep questioning was powerful and enabled them to find a new place in their performing presence – well done! I thought Dale Ringland handled the moment so well………. he is terrific!
Your performance in the evening was nothing short of inspirational. Having a seat in the front row, centre stage, I was able to see the finer expressions and interaction between yourself and your backing group. That for me was simply fantastic! Having seen you at the Norwood Town Hall some 12 years ago, it was interesting to see how you have evolved over that time. I must say, you appeared much more relaxed and happy within yourself, and so comfortable with the audience. From my seat it was like what I imagine it would be in the intimacy of your club.
The mixture of the songs was a delight and for one who sings a lot of Irving B, George G, Cole P & Peter A numbers, the benefit from your performance will certainly benefit my future performances, and for this I sincerely thank you.
You are indeed a master craftsman of song interpretation and presentation. My warm wishes for continued success and happiness.
Sincerely yours,
Peter King – Adelaide
PS – Keep that ('56) penny in your pocket and enjoy the richness that life will shower upon you.

We attended the June 8th early show at Feinstein's at the Regency and enjoyed it immensely. Pure joy! The tribute to Mr. Short couldn't have been composed in a more dignified and yet exuberant way. Mr. Feinstein has outdone even his amazing talents putting this together. Marti Stevens did a moving rendition of "They Can't Take That Away from Me" and from there she could not stop heaping praise on Mr. Feinstein's display of knowledge and of the joyous soul of Bobby Short. We only wish we had stopped smiling long enough to document the play list. We are wondering how we might obtain a listing of all the songs in the program rather than only those our feeble memories retained. Best of luck and many thanks for making such a wonderful experience available for us. Mr. Feinstein has a rare gift and we cherish it. Ed & Pat Shannon Albany NY

I would love to hear you do a duet with Queen latifah and also Diana Krall. Also you and Bobby Short doing Cole Porter would sell out! Enough said Joey

Dear Michael:
I wanted to let you know how sorry my mother and I am about the passing of your dear friend, Kitty Carlisle Hart. Mom met Kitty in the 1940s, and ran into her--from time to time--hence.
I am glad that you got to visit her shortly before she passed. It would have been wonderful if she had lived to a 100!
I wish you well and hope that you can keep her memory alive for posterity!

How about a return visit to Morgantown this coming year? You might even talk Marvin Hamlish to appear with you as he is a visiting teacher at the university. We miss you and your wonderful music. I saw your show last Saturday night in West Palm Beach. I was the guy sitting in the front row who gave you a standing ovation. Thank you for being so gracious backstage, too. It was a pleasure meeting you and seeing you perform. I've always enjoyed your CDs, and hope to see you again.
Sincerely, Todd Sussman (Hollywood, FL)
P.S. Have you ever considered doing an album of Alan & Marilyn Bergman songs? Your performances of "Where Do You Start" and "And I'll Be There" are definitive.

Dear Michael, My husband surprised me on Valentine's Day with tickets to your concert in Ohio. I was so thrilled. We live in Tennessee, and sadly are not country music fans. Your music is some of our favorite, and don't know when we've enjoyed a concert more. We didn't want the evening to end. We were so captivated by yours and Linda's show. Thanks for adhering to real, traditional american music. My husband has sung some of your songs, and we so enjoye them. Hope you come closer to Nashville. Please know if you do, we'll be there! Thanks so much again! Lisa Roberson

Michael, Iam so looking foreward to seeing you tomorrow night in West Palm Beach. My daughter surprised me with tickets. I have enjoyed your music for many years--my favorite "Love Walked In" as it tells of my romance, my husband a soldier from N.Y. "found a world completely new" with me a college girl from Kansas. Many years later we became "The folks who live on the Hill" as we built our retirement home in S.C. overlooking the mountains. After 51 years my husband died. I'm 83 years old and my memory is not always dependable, but listening to your music brings the memories back. Your songs have really been a joy and a comfort to me. "I'll be seeing you" tomorrow night. Thanks again for your wonderful music. Helen M., Green Cove Springs, Fl.

What a wonderful/passionate performance today!!! My mother and I attended a 2:30PM show in Lakeland today and bought our tickets last minute and ended up with the best seats in the house (front row/center stage). Honestly the best show I have seen in a long time. The weather was aweful outside, but inside was nothing but delightful. I can't wait until you make it to the Tampa area again. You truly tell the story of each song you sing!

Dear Michael, Hello there. I think that I may be one of your youngest fans out there, but I may be wrong. I'm 19, about to be 20. I have been listening to your music for about as long as I remember. I use to listen to your music with my Grandmother. She was a jazz singer in downtown Chicago in her younger days. Because of her, I am an aspiring Jazz Singer myself. I have listened to your music and how you play the piano and the connections that you make with all of your songs. I can't help but to feel them as well. Even though, some of the situations, I myself haven't yet experienced. My Grandmother, Flossie, did. A couple of your songs would get her teary-eyed, but with a smile. A song that she use to sing to me at night, or when I was scared was, "And I'll Be There", from your Forever CD. Your version of Moondance has been my favorite cover thus far. My Grandmother has been dead now for a little over 5 years. Everyday gets a little easier, but it is tough to sing and not hear her voice in my head. Death is tough and it is something that I deal with everyday, but when I play that same song that she use to sing me, I smile. Yes, there may be tears in my eyes, but it's happy tears remembering her, and everything that she taught me with her short time here on Earth. And, I just wanted to thank you, for helping me to keep her spirit alive. Your songs, and that song in particular help me to keep going when times are tough. So thank you from the bottom of my heart! Thank you!
Sincerely, Lisa Ramos Chicago,IL

I saw the greatest show ever tonight in San Rafael! I can't find the words to express my love and appreciation for what you do. You are simply s'wonderful. I asked the fellow in charge if I could see you after the show...He asked if I was a 'groupie', which we both found pretty funny since I'm 72 (a young 72)...All those progressions and bits of Gershwin tunes while you were in the middle of playing 'Summertime' were fabulous..You're fabulous..There's no one like you..Thank you. Truly a night to remember.

Thank you so much for again delighting us in the North Bay with another exceptional concert! Your enthusiasm for and skill at interpreting the library of American popular songs is truly unparalleled. I have listened to your recordings since "Isn't It Romantic?", but was not aware of your showmanship and vocal power until seeing you in concert last year; it was great to be back. Hearing Gershwin sung by Feinstein: it doesn't get much better that that! By the way, your covers of these tunes, especially those from early 20th century theater, were what my kids grew up hearing regularly (I have 4 children, 3 of whom were music majors in college in various disciplines). My youngest daughter, Jenni Barber, went on to major in musical theatre, graduated in '05, was cast in the SF and Boston casts of "the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee", and will be part of the group replacing the original Broadway cast on April 17 in NYC. I believe you were a part of her success! Thanks for sharing your music with us again.

Hello,
A few years ago you did a concert in London which was televised and I have never forgotten it. It featured a lot of Gershwin & Berlin tunes and was outstanding. I was lucky enough to tape it and unlucky enough to lose the tape due to DVD technology. If there is a DVD out there that is for sale I`d be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction so I can purchase it. When are you coming back to the UK? I would travel miles to see you based on that one performance that I was lucky to catch. It was a case of flicking through the channels looking for something to watch when I came across the show. I wore out the tape playing it over & over again. Fantastic.

Dear Michael:
I have been a fan of yours for 20 years or so. I last saw your show in 1990 in San Francisco. This show was about 35% improved--i.e. your voice is better, there is now a band, your banter was something new and funny, too, and the varied choice of songs.
Your are a talented delight, and i know i am not the first person to say this to you, however, it is true. I took four friends with me to the show, all of whom had never heard of you (IMAGINE!) and you now have 4 more fans. They also were well entertained and impressed.
Also, i like your website.
Good luck in all your career moves and shows. Thanks for coming to San Rafael--- do so again!.

Dear Michael, I love your shows! I have seen you twice at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis: once several years ago with my parents in honor of my dad's birthday (he adored your singing) and then last summer's performance with Linda Eder. Wondering if you will ever incorporate any songs written by Nacio Herb Brown ... especially "The Woman in the Shoe." My sister and I learned this song years ago for a "rest" song when we sang with our church choir, and we've passed it down to our children from memory. I'v looked for the sheet music without success. Thank you for listening to me ramble on here, and I hope to see you in concert again soon.

Dear Michael, I can't stop playing your Hugh Martin CD. Each song is a pure gem. I did not know Martin before I was inspired to buy this CD and I put him immediately at the top of my songwriters list. Your interpretation is profound and subtle. Unforgettable. Thank you so much for this great art. I have been searching everywhere on the net for a copy of the music sheet of the whole album. I can only find the Christmas and the Trolley songs. What about the others? Since I don't know who to turn to, I thought I might ask you directly, which gives me an opportunity to thank you for your wonderful work at the service of the American Songbook! Monia in London

I have had the good fortune to be at many of your concerts since the late 80's, but if possible, I believe you outdid yourself on Friday night. Your rendition of " As Long As She Needs Me" was so powerful. Your music holds many lovely and personal memories for me. Hello Michael,
Cara and I just got the Newsletter telling about your appearance at Carnegie Hall this week. Oh, how we wish we could be there, we know it will be wonderful. We do plan to be at Wolf Trap on July 29th. We enjoyed seeing you and Linda Eder at the Ferguson Center in Newport News. We can hardly believe it has been a year.
I have to tell you that I had quite an experience on Thanksgiving Day. I was standing right across the street from where you were broadcasting on the radio in New York. Cara and I came to NY from Williamsburg, as she was asked to be a balloon handler in the Macy's Parade. I picked my place to stand at 6:00a.m. and there I was in the pouring down rain. I could hardly believe it when they announced that you were up there on that scaffold. When Cara finally passed by I tried to tell her you were there, but the noise made that impossible. Imagine her disappointment when we finally caught up with each other. It was fun though.
Thanks again for all of the pleasurable moments you have given us all these years. Here's wishing you all the best, as always.

While working late one evening I popped one of your CD's into the computer. My office is on the 27th floor of a lower Manhattan office tower with views of the New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. It was about 8:00 pm, the sun had long set and the office was empty. The view out the office window was crisp, clear and a "quintessential" New York. I turn around to get back to work and who's at my desk but the president of the company. He heard your music and wanted to see who was playing it. We spent the next hour talking about Rogers and Hart and Michael Feinstein. I didn't get much work done but now the President of 50,000 plus employee firm knows my name. Thanks to you!

Greetings Michael !
I was about to send you a letter, but figured you had a website up and lo and behold...you do! Our box set of Johnny Mercer Capitol releases will finally see the light of day sometime in April and as of this moment I'm going through some of the unissued sides. One unissued side is a tune called "Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch" which he does as a duet with Jo Stafford. Do you know this by chance? I'm wondering if Johnny was the composer of it. I just tried to reach Tim Weston to see if his mom remembers this at all.
Anyway, hope all's well.
